Terms and conditions for hall listings

These terms apply to halls listed on hall-rental.ca and to anyone who claims a listing or buys a featured listing. hall-rental.ca is run by Simple Is Good Inc., Pickering, Ontario. They add to our terms of use.
Free listings
We may list halls using information they publish, such as their business profile and website. A free listing costs nothing and carries no obligation. You can ask us to correct your listing or remove it at any time by emailing [email protected].
Claiming a listing
To claim or manage a listing you must own or manage the hall, or be authorised to act for it. You sign in with a link we email you and a code we text to your cell, so you need a cell number that can receive texts. We may contact you to confirm you run the hall, and our office checks every change before it goes live.
Featured listings
- Price: $49.95 a year, or $99.95 in Brampton, Calgary, Edmonton, Etobicoke, Halifax, Hamilton, Mississauga, Montreal, North Vancouver, North York, Ottawa, Saskatoon, Scarborough, Toronto, Vancouver, Winnipeg, plus applicable sales tax (HST or GST). Prices may change at renewal; we'll tell you before they do.
- Billing: featured listings are billed by Simple Is Good Inc. The charge appears on your card statement as SIMPLEISGOOD.CA.
- Term and renewal: a featured listing runs for one year from payment. We email you before the renewal date. You can cancel any time before renewal and the listing stays featured until the end of the year you paid for.
- Refunds: fees are not refundable once the listing is featured, except where the law requires it or where we can't provide the featured listing.
- What featured includes: priority placement in your city and in the front-page featured row, your own photos, details such as capacity, rooms, prices and open dates, named rental contacts, and a "Featured" badge. We don't promise a number of enquiries or bookings.
Your content
You're responsible for the photos and details you give us. You confirm that you have the right to share them and that they're accurate. You give Simple Is Good Inc. a non-exclusive licence to display them on hall-rental.ca and to use them to promote your listing for as long as it's on the site.
We may edit or remove content that is inaccurate, misleading, unlawful or breaks these terms.
Enquiries
We forward renter enquiries to the email address we hold for your hall and keep a copy so we can follow up. Please reply to renters promptly and honestly. Renter details are for answering their enquiry only; don't add them to marketing lists without their consent.
Emails from us
We email halls about enquiries and about their listings. Every message tells you who we are and how to stop them: write to [email protected] with the word "unsubscribe" and we'll stop within 10 business days.
Texts from us
By giving us your cell number, you agree that we can text it with sign-in codes and messages about your listing. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to end texts at any time; you can still manage your listing by writing to [email protected].
Ending a listing
We may suspend or remove a listing that breaks these terms, after telling you why where we reasonably can. If we remove a featured listing through no fault of yours, we'll refund the unused part of the year.
Liability and law
To the extent the law allows, our total liability for a featured listing is limited to the fees you paid in the previous twelve months. These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
